Hurricane Season is Here

We’re off and running with the third named storm of the 2021 hurricane season, Claudette, who cut a swath of destruction from Louisiana to the Carolinas last week!

Subtropical storm Anna led off the season on May 22nd, a full week before the “official” start date of June 1st.

I guess she didn’t get that memo — someone get her a calendar!

NOAA says this season will be ‘above-normal’ with 13 to 20 named storms, including 3 to 5 major hurricanes. That means winds of 111 mph or higher…I don’t know about you, but I will definitely get blown away by that! I’ll have to tie myself down.

If you live in a hurricane-prone area, what can you do to prepare for the worst? Get ready with my Hurricane Preparedness Checklists with tips for before, during and after a hurricane strikes. Find them on the MC Dispatch Resource Center.

From everyone at Mover’s Choice, here’s wishing you a safe and uneventful hurricane season — after all, weather forecasts are never wrong, right?!
