FAQs about the Consolidated Program with AmTrust
Since our announcement that we are consolidating our insurance program with AmTrust, we have received a number of common questions that I’d like to share for everyone’s benefit:
Will you be sending non-renewal notices and when will they start? Yes, and the verbiage will be very clear that we are moving program partners. We will include a cover letter along with the non–renewal notices. You should expect to see them on renewals effective 6-1-23 and later. Additionally, new business effective 5-1-2023 will see the AmTrust quotes and proposals.
Are there appetite differences? No. We have worked very closely with AmTrust to mirror the programs. We also understand that many of our movers are diversifying so we can consider other operations, and that includes general commodities up to 25% and last mile/final mile delivery of bulky and heavy goods up to 15%, as examples.
Will there be any coverage differences? No. We have worked very closely with AmTrust to create a competitive and comprehensive product. As you have seen, we have limited Sue and Labor And Additional Expenses and Household Goods under Government Non-Temporary Storage on a number of accounts to $250,000 with options to increase. This will be standard in our new forms with options to increase.
There are times when we needed the option of just writing the Property and/or Inland Marine and often that is because the casualty lines are written in a Captive. Is that still an option? Yes, while it is our desire to write all lines of business for a customer to simplify billing, reduce coverage gaps and improve efficiency, there are times when this flexibility is important and we can respond positively.
How will claims be handled? Avant Specialty Claims currently handles our Automobile, and General Liability Claims. As transportation experts they will handle the Cargo claims as well. The property-related claims will be handled by AmTrust along with the Workers’ Compensation Claims they handle now.
Will Loss Control continue to be split between Loss Control professionals? No. We have selected loss control partners that are able to handle the risks on an account basis as well and will be able to provide value-added input and service across an account’s needs.
We are very excited to further our partnership with AmTrust and bring the advantages of a single carrier solution to you and your insured accounts. We welcome your comments and suggestions!
